If you are running Windows server 2016 or 2019, change the admin password by following the steps below:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Log into the server either directly by IONOS console or by using<\/span> Remote Desktop<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Press the Windows key + i to open Windows Settings.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Navigate to Accounts and open the Sign-in Options.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Scroll to the Password section and click Change.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Provide the current password and click Next.<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Type in and confirm the new password.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

    You can change the administrator password via the command prompt by following the below steps<\/span><\/p>\n

    1. Log into the server either directly by IONOS console or by using<\/span> Remote Desktop<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Press the Windows key and type cmd and then right click on \u201cCommand Prompt\u201d and select \u201cRun as Administrator\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Within the command prompt type \u201cnet user administrator password\u201d where password is the new password you want to set<\/span><\/li>\n
    4. You should see a message \u201cThe command completed successfully\u201d when the password has been changed.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
